War Testimony /
The fifth month of the war. And it seems that eternity. And it will never end. I look out the window and still do not understand how it happened that there is a war in the st century. And it is happening in my home, in my native land. So I want to turn back the time to February . Then there were completely different problems, worries, and plans. I was worried about various nonsense. More precisely, now you understand that those were unimportant things. And now you only think about how to survive and when it will all end. And you still don't understand why you are being destroyed. What is the reason? And you can't find an answer. February was imprinted for life. I went to bed safely but woke up to the sound of an explosion. But I could not immediately understand what kind of sound it was and where it came from. My wife woke me up with the words, "The war has begun." I also said: "What kind of war? What are you doing?". And then he saw a cloud of flame through the window, and after a second, an explosive wave of incredible force went out until the windows shook. I quickly gathered my family and sent them to safety in another city. And I myself remained. Why? I don't know myself. It must have been a week. Everything was quiet for a while. I went to my parents and went to sleep there. And when I woke up, I saw new cars through the window: tanks, armoured personnel carriers and some others. All have "Z" signs painted on them. I couldn't believe my eyes. I went to bed free and woke up in occupation. At first, everything was quiet; Russian troops searched the city for the Armed Forces. But they were not found because ours had not been in the city long. This is how the time of the enemy's reign in my home ended. They appointed their so-called "mayor" and then began to recruit others into the new administration. People from [CITY] also started coming to the city. I helped as much as I could with housing and resettlement. I heard the stories of the people of [CITY]. Often not very good reviews about our military. But I did not believe them. Sitting in the basement, knowing who shot into your house, is impossible. So the moon flashed by. During this time, I saw my daughter and wife only through Viber. And then the connection and the Internet disappeared. He was gone for three days, it seems. And it seemed like an eternity. When a connection appeared - it was such incredible happiness. I never thought his absence would become a kind of "break." Another month passed. Russians began to behave like full-fledged masters. So people were told: "We are here forever. Get used to the fact that you are now Russia." But people didn't believe them and, I think, still don't believe them. At the same time, your friends showed their true colours when they started cooperating with the "orcs." It was a shock because they seemed like adequate people. I never thought that I would live in an occupied city. But I had to learn how it is on my skin. Gradually, the cash began to disappear; to withdraw it, you had to stand in line from a.m., and it is not a fact that you will get anything. Then the quest "find a working terminal" began to buy food by card. And so every day. Also, there was no gasoline; it was chased like a treasure. Gasoline from Crimea appeared later. Goods from Russia also began to appear. Eating those products is impossible; it is so impressive that they brought all the worst from there. Time passed like that. Eventually, I was able to leave for my family. Now in a foreign city, we are starting everything from scratch. Hard, very hard. But we will persevere like Ukraine.
