War Testimony /
The emotions that arise during the war may not be completely bright and clearly marked. A person essentially goes through different stages of grief. Any loss in our lives, when we lose a loved one, a home and the place where we were born and lived, or even a job and our relationships, carries with it emotional distress and internal resistance and tension. Most people are still in the stage of shock and denial. Current events. They did not freeze. However, each of us experiences shock differently. Some make chaotic movements and panics, some sit in shelters, some flee abroad and look for a place where he and his family will be safe, and some mobilize and begin to help overcome the war. The shocking state is closely related to fear and sometimes to panic. Panic prompts a person to some actions and decisions that are not even considered. Very often, people leave their homes without documents and basic things. And when they come to their senses, they start to regret it. But this is the very first stage of living. When an unexplained emergency occurs, no one can ever prepare for it. Over time, a person begins to think that this did not happen to him and that it was all just a dream. She begins to deny what is happening. And these are completely normal manifestations of the human psyche. Today, when we have proved to the whole world how powerful a nation we are, we will really change the country. It will actually be new! After the grief experienced, the people will not remain the same as they were until now. The value system of Ukrainians will change radically. Those who were not patriots of their land will become so. And this will be the foundation for building a healthy society and a strong state. Now, most people in Ukraine feel a whole cocktail of difficult, negative, destructive emotions. Anger, aggression, hatred, despair, desire for revenge, mourning and many others. On the one hand, the honest decision is not to keep it all in yourself but to cry and scream, and on the other hand, not to stay in them forever. You cannot build a new progressive country on the foundation of hatred. Many of us are tired. The psyche of even the strongest person cannot be the same at every stage. We live on adrenaline and get experiences that are not typical for most of our people. Therefore, emotional decline is inevitable, but this remains one of the lessons of war to be able to endure. And not just to stand up but to stop the war inside yourself. Then the victory will be secured by ourselves, and the new stage of life will really be about evolution. I live with my son together. We stayed at home with our -year-old son, but we were also very scared; during an air raid, we stayed in shelters for safety, but of course, the biggest fear was for the child. But we believe in victory and believe that everything will end soon. I wish us all a peaceful sky above our heads.
