War Testimony /
Good evening. I am from the city of [CITY]. On February , this terrible war began. On this day, I had to take my child to kindergarten, and they were preparing for the holiday on March . I was very much looking forward to this holiday; my child is six years old, and I am divorced without a husband. But in the morning, I received an SMS from the kindergarten that the war had started in Ukraine. At first, I didn't believe it; maybe I thought it was fake. And the sounds of "explosions" were considered to be someone's wedding, and people were walking... unfortunately, they were not fireworks, but hail sounds. We quickly gathered things, and my child was also given a suitcase with things, and that's it.. life must have stopped.. the first hours were unbearable. I wanted to run away, but I didn't know how to run away. I don't have a car and I don't have much money. My child has a disability, so we lived on this money. We live together with my mother. Me, my son, and my mother. When the night came, we agreed that we would take turns with my mother, and so it was. Maybe nothing exploded when I was supposed to fall asleep, but it seemed to explode in my head and ears... I thought everything, the end for all of us, would come soon. In the morning, they taped all the windows. The first nights were the same. These terrible sounds were always in my ears. For the first Sundays, I walked with my clothes on, and I and my mother and child also slept in boots to be ready because it was still winter. When we still saw the sparks of the explosions, we all went outside together. We did not hide in the basement because we feared they would overwhelm us all and nobody would get them. .. My child was afraid to stay and said: Mom, you won't leave me. When our city was captured a couple of days later, a new phase of fear began - the sight of a foreign army. Their letters Z are like something terrible, special. They are committing genocide against the Ukrainian people. Destroyed all our joy, where there were good memories... Excitement is still there. Our city has been under occupation for four months... I still believe that Europe will help us, and we will win. Faith in God became even greater... And I forgot to write. In April, a rocket killed a woman, her child and their grandmother in [CITY]. This woman was my classmate... I remember them every day, both simply and when I hear the sounds of war. How terrible to die like that. We want peace, so God will bless us and solve this cruel war. I can't write anymore. I can't, I don't want to, because I can't put everything being done into words. If you ask what the meaning of life is, then I don't know. I still believe in the future. I believe that everything will be fine, my mother and son and I will travel around Europe, and everything will be fine. Faith in God has never been as great as it is now. Thank you
