My daughter and I learned about the beginning of the war while we were on the train to Kyiv, we were going to a sports ballroom dance competition. We did not return home because [CITY] was captured on the third day of the war. We parted with our relatives, having no belongings, only things for the tournament, we were in Kyiv, in [NEIGHBORHOOD]. We were sheltered by a caring family of athletes. With every siren we ran to the bomb shelter, and my daughter said I don't want to die, I want to live, I haven't won the competition and I haven't learned a lot... There were many people in the bomb shelter, we were sitting on the floor, all around were crying children, cats and dogs cried, old people wailed, we all prayed for the peace and victory of our native Ukraine. When we were returning to the house, we saw planes flying past us from the window, it seemed that they would fly into our window, but huh...it flew...we managed..it's ours, we prayed for everyone to survive and win in battle. From the windows you could see how the shelling was going on, the whole sky was on fire... The house was shaking and the windows were falling out, we taped the windows with scotch tape, it saved us... One day a rocket hit a neighboring house and we decided to move to Western Ukraine by evacuation trains. Having no idea where we were going, my daughter and I reached the station, thanking the volunteers who helped mothers with children, and waited for the train. We waited for or hours, but we were running away from the war... We managed to get on one of the trains, we traveled standing for hours, without even being able to sit down, people were standing around in a dense ring, children and animals were crying around, but they didn’t bomb either it was already good... My daughter didn't have the strength to cry, she was silent and didn't ask for anything... We were met at the [CITY] train station and taken to school in [CITY]... we were saved, we hope it is so.

Ми з донькою дізналися про початок війни перебуваючи у потязі на Київ, ми їхали на змагання зі спортивних бальних танців. До дому ми вже не повернулися, тому що [МІСТО] був захопленим на третій день війни. Ми розлучилися з рідними, не маючи ніяких речей, тільки для турніру речі, знаходилися у Києві, на [МІКРОРАЙОН]. Нас прихистила небайдужа родина зі спортсменів. З кожною сиреною ми бігли до бомбосховища, а моя донечка казала: "Я не хочу вмирати, я хочу жити, я ще не виграла змагання і не вивчила багато чого...". У сховищі було багато людей, ми сиділи на підлозі, навколо плакали діти, плакали котики та собачки, голосили старі люди, ми всі молилися, щоб настав мир та перемога нашої рідної України. Коли поверталися до будинку, то з вікна ми бачили, як летять літаки повз нас, здавалося, що залетіть до нас у вікно, але хух...пронесло...впоралися.. це наші, ми молилися за кожного, щоб вижив і переміг у бою. З вікон було видно, як йдуть обстріли, все небо у вогні...Будинок здригався та випадали шибки, ми позаклеювали вікна скотчем, це рятувало....Одного дня ракета влучила у сусідній будинок і ми вирішили евакуаційними потягами рушити на Західну Україну. Не маючи уявлення, куди ми їдемо, ми з донькою дісталися Вокзалу, дякуючи волонтерам, які допомагали мамам з дітьми, та чекали на потяг. Чекали годин чи сім, але ми бігли від війни...На один з потягів нам вдалося потрапити, ми їхали стоячи годин, без змоги хоч присісти, люди навколо стояли щільним кільцем, навколо плакали діти, звірі, але не бомбили й то вже було добре..У донечки не було сил плакати, вона мовчала і нічого не просила...На вокзалі [МІСТО] нас зустріли та відвезли до школи в [МІСТО]...ми врятувалися, сподіваємося, це так і є.
