The war caught me by surprise. I could never suppose that people living in the era of high-quality technologies, computerization, having a developed institution of diplomacy, could allow time to roll them back into the past, and people again felt what war, evacuation, absence of food, medicine are like. That is why February , was a day that changed my attitude to things that were normal in peacetime. This day was a shock for me. This day began with the sounds of explosions, which announced that the war had begun, and with it grief came to the homes of Ukrainians. I live in a small village near the city of [CITY]. Our people are simple, everyone lived a settled life: they had jobs, raised children, enjoyed every day. But the war turned everything upside down. In the morning, people were confused and did not know what to do. The first shock from the explosions in [CITY] has passed. People started buying up everything. What was on the shelves and not sold for months was bought. All this led to a shortage of goods. So a pack of salt cost hryvnias. Then the fuel, flour and yeast disappeared. There was no bread for sale. Those who could not and did not consider it necessary began to bake bread. Pharmacies ran out of medicines. They simply did not bring them, because the road between [CITY] and [CITY] was destroyed. I was in a panic: where can I get medicines for my mother, who takes them all the time? Volunteers helped ferry them across the contact line. I could never have imagined that military equipment would drive through the streets of our village. I and many of my friends had to leave my favorite job, thereby being left without a means of livelihood... But we need money, because we have to feed children and elderly parents, buy medicine. In this difficult time, the attitude of people towards each other changed. They started to help each other more, shared products, medicines... In the village, we organized a humanitarian headquarters, where we helped vulnerable sections of the population with food, clothes, etc. These difficult times for every person taught me to appreciate life, to enjoy every minute of life, to accept it as it is, and to believe that everything will be fine on our earth. May the long-awaited peace come soon!

Мене війна застала зненацька. Я ніколи не змогла допустити, що люди, які живуть у час високоякісних технологій, комп’ютерізації, маючи розвинутий інститут дипломатії, можуть допустити, щоб час відкотив їх у минуле, і люди знов відчули ,що таке війна, евакуація, відсутність їжі, ліків. Тому лютого року був днем ,який змінив моє ставлення до речей, які у мирний час були звичайними. Цей день був шоком для мене. Цей день почався звуками вибухів ,які сповістили про те, що почалася війна, а з нею прийшло горе до домівок українців. Я мешкаю в невеликому селищі поблизу міста [МІСТО]. Люди у нас прості, всі жили налагоджений життям: мали роботу, ростили дітей, раділи кожному дню. Але війна все перевернула. Зранку люди були збентежені, не знали, що робити. Перший шок від вибухів у [МІСТО] пройшов. Люди почали скуповувати все. Те, що стояло на полицях і не продавалося місяцями, було куплено. Все це призвело до дефіциту товарів. Так пачка солі коштувала гривень. Далі пропали пальне, мука та дріжджі. Хліба в продажі не було. Хто не міг і не вважав за потрібне, почав пекти хліб. В аптеках закінчилися ліки. Їх просто не привозили, тому що дорога між [МІСТО] та [МІСТО] була зруйнована. Я була в паніці: де брати ліки для моєї матусі, яка приймає їх постійно? Допомогли волонтери переправити їх через лінію зіткнення. Я ніколи не могла уявити, що вулицями нашого селища буде їздити військова техніка. Я та багато моїх друзів мусили залишити улюблену роботу, тим самим залишилися без засобів до існування. Але ж кошти потрібно, бо треба ж годувати дітей та похилих батьків, купувати ліки. В цей непростий час змінилося ставлення людей один до одного. Стали більш допомагати один одному, ділилися продуктами, ліками. В селищі ми організували гуманітарний штаб, в якому допомагали незахищеним верствам населення їжею, одягом, тощо. Ці непрості часи для кожної людини навчили мене цінувати життя, радіти кожній хвилині життя, приймати його таким, яке воно є, і вірити в те, що все буде добре на нашій землі. Нехай поскоріше наступить довгоочікуваний мир!
