War Testimony /

The war caught me by surprise, like all of us. My family and I woke up to the explosions on the morning of February , which happened km from my house. I remember that morning well. I was anxious, worried, and very scared for the first two weeks. I felt fear and uncertainty about the future, and thoughts arose: "what will happen tomorrow? And will it be?". Every time the alarm sounded, my parents and I went to the shelter, had emergency suitcases with everything necessary for staying in the shelter for a long time, monitored the news, and put our "life on pause" I was mostly at home. In the middle of March, I began to return a little to the rhythm of life that existed before these events. I continued to study, develop, look for interesting activities, and go for walks as much as possible. To be honest, I recently tried to remember the events of last spring and realized that not much had happened in my life. All attention was focused on the situation in the country. There were thoughts about whether to go abroad or stay here, but during the entire period (a year), I did not leave anywhere because of the war. I helped on a volunteer basis together with a friend, donated funds for meetings from verified people, and distributed important information on social networks. Regarding my psycho-emotional state, I felt that I had become more sentimental. I could not be indifferent to the grief the war brought our people. During the war, I began practicing relaxation, breathing, and self-soothing and shared them with others. During this time, I found my field, which is not only interesting for me but also developing in it, and I began to receive income. In my case, the war changed my life, changed my attitude toward loved ones to simple things, and taught me to appreciate and rejoice in every day and moment. The war, to some extent, gave me an impetus for self-development, for reaching another level of life. I understand that I will no longer be the same as I was before. Life will not be the same. Therefore, I try to live and create my history and plan for the future, but I do not forget about the war. It will always remind itself; it still continues, and it is essential not to forget what sacrifices and forces I can live with today and remain relatively safe.
