War Testimony /
At the beginning of the war, my whole life seemed to be turned upside down. February is the worst day of my life. I could never believe that my Motherland, my people, would suffer from bloodthirsty Russia. A few months before the war, I had terrible dreams, something like military equipment and bombing. I woke up with fear and reassured myself, saying it was just a dream. And who would have thought that these dreams would become reality? It feels like winter has been going on for months already. Time stopped. I didn't feel the atmosphere of spring, summer, autumn... It's hard to recover and live in general, knowing that Ukrainians are dying in the East every day so that we can sleep peacefully. It's hard for me to read the news every day. Although some moments calm me down, we all know what it costs us. What hurts the most is that there are unconscious Ukrainians among us who continue to popularize the enemy's work and use their language. I have completely given up on everything Russian and feel complete disgust for everything theirs. I seem to have developed a reflex. During the first months, I was filled with aggression and rage. I can't react to some things sometimes. Tears often flow in rivers. I make a lot of effort to stop it, but crying is just an emotion with the right to be. Of course, it was not without depression and panic attacks. But when you understand that there in the East, our military does not have time to sleep. They live in constant stress and sacrifice their lives for us; then the depression leaves me. In general, this is a good motivation that often helps to move on. It was hard to live without friends and family. Due to work problems, my parents were forced to go abroad, and I was left alone. All my friends and acquaintances were also in different parts of the world, and it was incredibly difficult for me without them. Emptiness, feelings of abandonment and exhaustion began to haunt me. But people can get used to everything, so I just got used to it. Sometimes I feel guilty that I can live in a peaceful city, that I eat good food, buy clothes, and sleep peacefully. It is difficult to imagine how the population from the East experiences all this. I even stopped running social networks because I did not let go of the feeling of guilt. I chastise myself for being unable to fix the situation, and I am confused by the inaction of the world. How can the world not stop war in the st century? Why are all kinds of international organizations created if evil continues to exist? These thoughts are eating away at my brain. I'm worried about winter. I think this will be the most brutal winter for us.
