The war caught me by surprise. My older son was woken up by the siren. I turned on my phone and started reading the news. The first thought was: I'm still sleeping; I'll wake up now... But the siren did not stop, and the news appeared one more terrible than the other... After realizing that this was a new terrible reality, I realized that I was lucky: I was planning a trip to Kyiv on February with my younger -year-old son, who has a disability and uses a wheelchair. If the war had caught us in the epicentre of events, I don't know what would have happened to us. From the first days of the war, I decided for myself that I would stay in my hometown because others needed me here. I work as a psychologist at school; in addition, I conduct psychological consultations online. My support is necessary for all participants in the educational process: parents, teaching staff, students, and especially for children with special needs who study at our school for inclusion. It is complicated for them to accept the new reality; they do not understand why the siren sounds and why they need to take shelter. We learn step-by-step breathing exercises for calming and awareness of ourselves here and now and finger gymnastics for concentration. I want to share another interesting experience. I live in a relatively peaceful region, and our friends from Kyiv moved to us in the first days of the invasion; a godmother with three young daughters: , and years old. We communicate closely with them; before the war, we visited them for several days more than once, just as they visited us many times. But, you know, receiving guests is one thing, and living in the same apartment for an indefinite period is quite another. My boys are already quite grown up, and years old, and little girls have arrived here, who sometimes cry, scream and fuss) and it is quite problematic to share one kitchen and one bathroom for seven people. We survived it, remained in good relations and often recall the experience gained. I hope that the war will end soon, we will win, and Ukraine will become even stronger and will be an example for the countries of the world as an uncompromising fighter for independence and freedom.

Війна застала мене зненацька. Розбудив старший син, якого підняла сирена. Я увімкнула телефон і почала читати новини. Першою думкою було: я ще сплю, зараз прокинусь... Але сирена не змовкала, а новини з'являлись одна страшніша іншої... Після усвідомлення, що це - нова страшна реальність, я зрозуміла, що мені пощастило: я планувала поїздку до Києва лютого з молодшим -літнім сином, який має інвалідність та пересувається у візочку. Якби війна застала нас в епіцентрі подій, не знаю, що би з нами було. З перших днів війни я вирішила для себе, що буду залишатись в рідному місті, адже я потрібна тут іншим. Я працюю психологом в школі, крім того – проводжу психологічні консультації онлайн. Моя підтримка є необхідною для всіх учасників навчального процесу: батьків, педагогічного колективу, учнів; але особливо – для діток з особливими потребами, які навчаються в нашій школі на інклюзії. Їм особливо важко сприймати нову реальність, вони не розуміють, чому гуде сирена і чому потрібно ховатись в укриття. Ми крок за кроком засвоюємо дихальні вправи для заспокоєння та усвідомлення себе тут і зараз, пальчикову гімнастику для зосередження. Хочу поділитись ще одним цікавим досвідом. Я живу в відносно спокійному регіоні, і до нас з Києва в перші дні вторгнення переїхали наші київські друзі, кума з трьома маленькими донечками: , і років. Ми тісно з ними спілкуємось, до війни не раз їздили до них на кілька днів, так само як і вони гостювали в нас неодноразово. Але, знаєте, приймати гостей - це одне, а жити в одній квартирі протягом невизначеного терміну – зовсім інше. Мої хлопці вже досить дорослі, і років, а тут приїхали маленькі дівчатка, які іноді плачуть, кричать та вередують) та й розділяти одну кухню та один санвузол на сімох осіб досить проблематично. Ми це пережили, залишились в хороших стосунках та часто згадуємо набутий досвід. Сподіваюсь, що скоро війна закінчиться, ми переможемо, і Україна стане ще сильнішою та буде прикладом для держав всього світу як безкомпромісний борець за незалежність та свободу.
